One email. Straight to the founder.

No gatekeepers, no marketing automation, no "thanks for your interest, a representative will reach out." You write; Bo reads. Typical response is within 24 hours on business days.

What to include in your first email

The more specific your first note, the faster and sharper our response. Not every field applies to every inquiry, but if you include what you can, we can come back with a real answer instead of a round of qualifying questions.

  • Topic or opportunity — what you're working on, in plain sentences.
  • Solicitation number — if SBIR/STTR/BAA, include the topic number and agency.
  • Your role — agency, prime contractor, research institution, OT consortium, etc.
  • Rough timeline — proposal due date, award target, kickoff window.
  • Scope you need covered — the AI/ML workshare you'd like us to carry.
  • NDA status — whether you need one signed before sharing details. We sign within one business day.
  • Budget range — order-of-magnitude is fine; it lets us size workshare appropriately.

Engagement types — pick the one that fits

We handle a small number of engagement types. Identifying which one describes your situation speeds everything up.

EngagementWho writesWhat we need from you
SBIR / STTR partnering Agency TPOCs, academic research partners, prime firms, other small businesses seeking AI workshare. Topic number, agency, proposal due date, scope of AI/ML workshare you need, whether you want us as prime or sub.
Prime teaming / subcontracting Large federal primes building teams for IDIQ task orders or small-business-set-aside bids. Vehicle (e.g., PACTS III, CIO-SP4), task order reference, scope you need an AI/ML sub to carry, proposal timeline.
Direct federal award Contracting officers, program offices, COR/COTRs needing a small business AI capability. Solicitation number or market research basis, NAICS, set-aside status, rough period of performance.
BAA / OTA response Research sponsors running BAAs or OT consortia calls (FBI, DARPA, service labs). Announcement link, topic area, white-paper vs. full-proposal phase, decision timeline.
General inquiry Anyone else with a legitimate federal AI question. A short paragraph describing what you're trying to figure out.

Response-time expectations

  • Business days — Reply within 24 hours, often much faster.
  • Proposal-timeline inquiries — If you're inside 72 hours of a due date, say so in the subject line. We triage those first.
  • NDA signing — Standard mutual NDA, one business day.
  • Teaming agreement — Typically within 3-5 business days after scope alignment.
  • After a federal holiday — Expect a one-day lag.

What we will and won't commit to over email

To keep the bar honest: some things we'll commit to in a first reply, others we won't.

WillWon't
Confirm fit or no-fit with a specific topicPromise we'll win without seeing the topic
Sign a mutual NDASign open-ended exclusivity arrangements
Share our capabilities statementInvent past performance we don't have

Privacy and data handling

We treat inbound email as business communication. We don't sell, share, or syndicate your contact information to anyone. We don't run marketing automation against inbound leads. If you send sensitive pre-award information, we handle it at the sensitivity level you specify; if you need an NDA first, say so in your first line and we'll send paperwork before substantive reply.

Frequently asked

Do you take phone calls?

After a first email. We keep written records and like to have the shape of a conversation on paper before a call. Once the topic is scoped, a 30-minute call is easy to arrange.

Is there a sales team?

No. Every email reaches the founder directly.

Can you sign an NDA before I share details?

Yes. Standard mutual NDA, one business day turnaround. We don't sign open-ended exclusivity or non-compete clauses attached to NDAs.

Do you handle classified work?

We do not currently hold facility or personnel security clearances. We work at the unclassified / CUI level. If your scope requires cleared work today, we're not the right partner for that piece; we can still team on the unclassified portions through a cleared prime.

Where are you based?

Ames, Iowa. Remote-first delivery with on-site travel when the mission requires it.

1 business day response

Send the first email. We'll take it from there.

Federal agencies, primes, SBIR partners, research institutions — all welcome.
