About Precision Federal

How this role works
- You join the bench. You apply with your weekly hours and start time. We set your hourly rate from your résumé, and we may name you on proposals that match this role. If we don't win, you owe nothing.
- A contract is awarded. The award funds the team named in the proposal. Your engagement begins at the hourly rate we agreed on.
- You work remote, paid from the contract. ~100–300 hrs per funded award — and if no award ever funds, you owe nothing and lose nothing.
What you'll do
- Review tower, antenna and small-cell applications against local wireless ordinances, zoning requirements and FCC rules
- Check structural packages against ANSI/TIA-222 and RF-exposure reports against FCC OET Bulletin 65
- Test coverage-gap claims and the drive-test data behind them, then sign plain-language findings recommending approval, changes or denial
- Present your findings at planning and zoning or council hearings when needed, while our team handles the data checks, shot-clock tracking and paperwork
Required qualifications
- Current Professional Engineer registration in Arizona (electrical, telecommunications or structural)
- Experience reviewing wireless facility applications for cities, counties or other local governments, applying both RF engineering principles and land-use or zoning requirements
- Hands-on command of RF propagation and exposure software, tower structural safety review and FCC wireless siting rules
- Complete independence from commercial wireless carriers, tower developers and installation contractors, and willingness to sign a statement saying so
- Willing to serve as the named Project Engineer on this contract, with your résumé and Arizona license on file
- U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident (U.S. person)
- Willing to be named on a federal proposal with a one-page resume, and to sign a short letter of commitment
Preferred qualifications
- Three or more local government wireless reviews you can point to
- Experience testifying at public hearings or serving as an expert witness
- Working knowledge of Section 6409(a), the FCC small-cell orders, shot clocks and Arizona's small wireless facilities law
- Tools such as EDX SignalPro, Atoll, Planet, RoofView or IXUS for RF, and tnxTower or RISA for structural analysis
