Web Project Manager & Technical Lead (Orange County, CA)

Run our public sector web projects from Orange County, California: keep scope, schedule and the technical work honest, and be the person in the room when the client needs answers.

About Precision Federal

Precision Federal is a small business building AI, data and software systems for government agencies. The company’s founder loves God, and the company is built on Christian faith: every number we publish is real, every claim we make is verifiable, and the work is done with excellence as service to God. Faith is welcome here and openly shared.

How this role works

  1. You join the bench. You apply with your weekly hours and start time. We set your hourly rate from your résumé, and we may name you on proposals that match this role. If we don't win, you owe nothing.
  2. A contract is awarded. The award funds the team named in the proposal. Your engagement begins at the hourly rate we agreed on.
  3. You work remote, paid from the contract. ~200–1,000 hrs per funded award — and if no award ever funds, you owe nothing and lose nothing.

What you'll do

  • Plan and run web projects end to end, from discovery and requirements through build, testing and launch
  • Lead the technical direction of the site: CMS, hosting, integrations, accessibility and performance
  • Meet in person with client staff in Orange County to run working sessions, demos and status reviews
  • Keep scope, schedule, risks and decisions written down and visible to the team and the client
  • Tell us early when a plan, an estimate or a technical choice is not going to hold up

Required qualifications

  • Located in Orange County, California, and able to meet with the client in person
  • Direct experience managing web design or web development projects from kickoff through launch
  • Hands-on technical background in web development, CMS platforms or web hosting, enough to lead developers and review their work
  • U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident (U.S. person)
  • Willing to be named on a federal proposal with a one-page resume, and to sign a short letter of commitment

Preferred qualifications

  • Websites for cities, counties, special districts, school districts or state agencies
  • Drupal, WordPress, Granicus, CivicPlus or comparable CMS platforms
  • WCAG 2.1 AA and Section 508 accessibility work
  • PMP, CSM or comparable project management certification

Compensation & structure
