About Precision Federal
Precision Federal is a small business building AI, data and software systems for government agencies. The company’s founder loves God, and the company is built on Christian faith: every number we publish is real, every claim we make is verifiable, and the work is done with excellence as service to God. Faith is welcome here and openly shared.
How this role works
- You join the bench. You apply with your weekly hours and start time. We set your hourly rate from your résumé, and we may name you on proposals that match this role. If we don't win, you owe nothing.
- A contract is awarded. The award funds the team named in the proposal. Your engagement begins at the hourly rate we agreed on.
- You work remote, paid from the contract. ~80–500 hrs per funded award — and if no award ever funds, you owe nothing and lose nothing.
What you'll do
- Run delivery of a managed UAS service: pilot scheduling, fleet readiness, maintenance, and on-time, on-budget performance
- Own flight operations compliance, including Part 107 rules, waivers, LAANC and airspace authorizations, and safety and incident reporting
- Work with public-safety users to turn their missions into flight plans, standard operating procedures and data products they will actually use
- Track service levels, flight logs and costs, and report clearly to the customer on what was flown, what was delivered and what needs to change
- Tell us where a plan breaks on real airspace, real weather, real batteries or real community concerns before it reaches the Government
Required qualifications
- Current FAA Part 107 remote pilot certificate
- Hands-on experience in a public-safety drone program, such as police, fire, EMS, search and rescue or emergency management
- Experience leading UAS operations or managed-services delivery, including people, aircraft, schedules and customer reporting
- U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident (U.S. person)
- Willing to be named on a federal proposal with a one-page resume, and to sign a short letter of commitment
Preferred qualifications
- Part 107 waivers, COAs, BVLOS or drone-as-first-responder operations
- Fleet and flight management software such as DroneSense, Aloft, Airdata or DJI FlightHub
- Experience with drone privacy policies, community engagement and public records requests
- Background in public safety, aviation safety management or program management (PMP or equivalent)
