About Precision Federal
Precision Federal is a small business building AI, data and software systems for government agencies. The company’s founder loves God, and the company is built on Christian faith: every number we publish is real, every claim we make is verifiable, and the work is done with excellence as service to God. Faith is welcome here and openly shared.
How this role works
- You join the bench. You apply with your weekly hours and start time. We set your hourly rate from your résumé, and we may name you on proposals that match this role. If we don't win, you owe nothing.
- A contract is awarded. The award funds the team named in the proposal. Your engagement begins at the hourly rate we agreed on.
- You work remote, paid from the contract. ~160–800 hrs per funded award — and if no award ever funds, you owe nothing and lose nothing.
What you'll do
- Author and tune training scenarios, from the threat laydown and entity behaviors to the events that drive the learning objectives
- Integrate simulators and trainers over DIS and HLA, and work through the FOM, PDU, timing and coordinate issues that keep them from agreeing
- Build and adjust computer-generated forces and entity behavior so threats and friendlies act the way real ones would
- Write and review the C++ or Python that sits between our software and existing training systems
- Tell us plainly where a design will break in a live federation or on a real trainer before it reaches the Government
Required qualifications
- Hands-on engineering work on training simulators, constructive simulations or modeling-and-simulation systems in a delivery role
- Working experience with DIS, HLA (1.3, 1516 or 1516e) or comparable simulation interoperability standards
- Experience authoring or modifying simulation scenarios, computer-generated forces or entity behaviors
- Programming ability in C++ or Python
- U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident (U.S. person)
- Willing to be named on a federal proposal with a one-page resume, and to sign a short letter of commitment
Preferred qualifications
- Naval, maritime or joint training systems experience, including shipboard or aviation trainers
- NGTS, JSAF, OneSAF, VBS, MAK VR-Forces, RTI tools such as Pitch or MAK RTI, or comparable products
- Threat modeling and simulation for sensors, weapons or electronic warfare
- Active security clearance or eligibility to obtain one
