1099 consultant · ~120–600 hrs per funded award · $25–$65/hr · Remote (U.S.)

Sustainability & GHG Data Analyst

Keep our sustainability and emissions work honest, so every inventory, rating and reduction claim we build holds up line by line against the protocol behind it.

About Precision Federal

Precision Federal is a small business building AI, data and software systems for government agencies. The company’s founder loves God, and the company is built on Christian faith: every number we publish is real, every claim we make is verifiable, and the work is done with excellence as service to God. Faith is welcome here and openly shared.

How this role works

  1. You join the bench. You apply with your weekly hours and start time. We set your hourly rate from your résumé, and we may name you on proposals that match this role. If we don't win, you owe nothing.
  2. A contract is awarded. The award funds the team named in the proposal. Your engagement begins at the hourly rate we agreed on.
  3. You work remote, paid from the contract. ~120–600 hrs per funded award — and if no award ever funds, you owe nothing and lose nothing.

What you'll do

  • Review our emissions inventories, boundaries and emission factors against the GHG Protocol and the methods your field actually uses
  • Check how we map source data into AASHE STARS credits and SIMAP inputs, and flag where the numbers will not survive review
  • Tell us where an approach breaks on real data: missing meters, estimated invoices, Scope 3 gaps or double counting
  • Point us at the right emission factor set, guidance document or authoritative source before a claim reaches the Government

Required qualifications

  • Hands-on experience building or reviewing greenhouse gas inventories or sustainability reports in a delivery or analytic role
  • Working knowledge of the GHG Protocol Corporate Standard and Scope 1, 2 and 3 accounting, and of AASHE STARS, SIMAP or comparable reporting frameworks
  • U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident (U.S. person)
  • Willing to be named on a federal proposal with a one-page resume, and to sign a short letter of commitment

Preferred qualifications

  • Prior STARS submissions or SIMAP inventories for a college, university or public institution
  • Experience with federal or state sustainability reporting, energy data management tools, or third-party verification
  • Credentials such as STARS Accredited Professional, GHG Management Institute certification, LEED or CEM

Compensation & structure

1099 consulting engagement. $25–$65 per hour; we set your rate from your résumé and experience. Hours are funded by federal contract awards — this seat is scoped at roughly 120–600 hours per funded award, fully remote. Work and pay begin only if the contract is awarded — no award, no hours, no obligation.

Join the bench — Sustainability & GHG Data Analyst

Every application is read. It takes about 5 minutes.

  • This is a bench, not a job offer. Work starts when we win a contract that needs you.
  • We may name you on proposals. If that contract is awarded, you do the role at the rate and hours we agree on.
  • Paid hourly as a 1099 contractor; full-time roles may be W-2. If your background fits, we will email you.
