About Precision Federal
Precision Federal is a small business building AI, data and software systems for government agencies. How this role works
- You join the bench. You apply with your weekly hours and start time. We set your hourly rate from your résumé, and we may name you on proposals that match this role. If we don't win, you owe nothing.
- A contract is awarded. The award funds the team named in the proposal. Your engagement begins at the hourly rate we agreed on.
- You work remote, paid from the contract. ~80–400 hrs per funded award — and if no award ever funds, you owe nothing and lose nothing.
What you'll do
- Find, photograph and record outfalls across eastern Connecticut, noting their condition and any dry-weather flow
- Take dry-weather grab samples and field readings for ammonia, chlorine, conductivity, surfactants, temperature and bacteria, with clean chain of custody
- Tell us where the outfall map does not match what is on the ground, and help trace a flow upstream to where it starts
- Keep field data complete and consistent so it holds up in the report to the Government, and as lead, plan routes and safety and keep the crew on schedule
Required qualifications
- Hands-on field experience with stormwater outfall inspection, IDDE screening, or water quality sampling
- Based in eastern Connecticut and able to work in person in the field, including stream banks, roadsides and rough ground in changing weather
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident (U.S. person)
- Willing to be named on a federal proposal with a one-page resume, and to sign a short letter of commitment
Preferred qualifications
- MS4 permit compliance work for Connecticut towns or comparable New England programs
- Field test kits and meters such as Hach or YSI, and sampling for certified labs
- Experience leading a field crew, OSHA 10 or HAZWOPER training, and GIS field apps such as ArcGIS Field Maps or Survey123
