About Precision Federal
Precision Federal is a small business building AI, data and software systems for government agencies. The company’s founder loves God, and the company is built on Christian faith: every number we publish is real, every claim we make is verifiable, and the work is done with excellence as service to God. Faith is welcome here and openly shared.
How this role works
- You join the bench. You apply with your weekly hours and start time. We set your hourly rate from your résumé, and we may name you on proposals that match this role. If we don't win, you owe nothing.
- A contract is awarded. The award funds the team named in the proposal. Your engagement begins at the hourly rate we agreed on.
- You work remote, paid from the contract. ~120–600 hrs per funded award — and if no award ever funds, you owe nothing and lose nothing.
What you'll do
- Design the warehouse architecture in Snowflake: databases, schemas, roles, warehouses, ingestion and how data moves from raw to curated to reporting
- Build and review dimensional, data vault and lakehouse models that hold up as sources change and new questions come in
- Write and tune Snowflake SQL, stored procedures, tasks and streams, and manage storage, compute and cost
- Work inside Agile Scrum sprints with our engineers and analysts, and turn requirements into stories the team can deliver
- Tell us plainly where a design will break on real data volumes, real query patterns or real security rules
Required qualifications
- At least 5 years designing data warehouses on cloud and enterprise analytics platforms
- At least 3 years of hands-on Snowflake programming and database management
- At least 3 years working on Agile Scrum teams
- U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident (U.S. person)
- Willing to be named on a federal proposal with a one-page resume, and to sign a short letter of commitment
Preferred qualifications
- 12 or more years of data modeling, including leading modeling work across dimensional, data vault and lakehouse designs
- SnowPro Core or SnowPro Advanced Architect certification
- dbt, Airflow, Fivetran, Matillion or comparable ingestion and transformation tools
- Experience with government data, including role-based access, data sharing and audit requirements
- Power BI, Tableau or other enterprise BI tools on top of Snowflake
Compensation & structure
