About Precision Federal
Precision Federal is a small business building AI, data and software systems for government agencies. The company’s founder loves God, and the company is built on Christian faith: every number we publish is real, every claim we make is verifiable, and the work is done with excellence as service to God. Faith is welcome here and openly shared.
How this role works
- You join the bench. You apply with your weekly hours and start time. We set your hourly rate from your résumé, and we may name you on proposals that match this role. If we don't win, you owe nothing.
- A contract is awarded. The award funds the team named in the proposal. Your engagement begins at the hourly rate we agreed on.
- You work remote, paid from the contract. ~120–600 hrs per funded award — and if no award ever funds, you owe nothing and lose nothing.
What you'll do
- Shape research questions, study designs and evaluation plans that a peer review panel will take seriously
- Review our measures, sampling, analysis plans and data collection against how teacher preparation programs and schools actually run
- Tell us where an approach breaks in real classrooms, with real preservice teachers, or with students who receive special education services
- Check claims about effectiveness and outcomes before they reach the Government, and point us to the literature, standards and evidence frameworks we should be using
- Co-author proposals, reports and papers, and serve as named Co-PI or key personnel where the award calls for it
Required qualifications
- PhD in education research, special education, teacher education, learning sciences or a closely related field
- Experience as PI, Co-PI or key personnel on a federally funded education research grant
- A published or funded research record in preservice teacher preparation or STEM program evaluation
- U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident (U.S. person)
- Willing to be named on a federal proposal with a one-page resume, and to sign a short letter of commitment
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with rigorous designs such as randomized trials, quasi-experimental designs or mixed-methods evaluation
- Familiarity with What Works Clearinghouse standards or comparable evidence review frameworks
- Partnerships with educator preparation programs, school districts or state education agencies
- Experience with students with disabilities, IEP processes or inclusive classroom practice
- Prior K-12 classroom teaching experience
