About Precision Federal
Precision Federal is a small business building AI, data and software systems for government agencies. The company’s founder loves God, and the company is built on Christian faith: every number we publish is real, every claim we make is verifiable, and the work is done with excellence as service to God. Faith is welcome here and openly shared.
How this role works
- You join the bench. You apply with your weekly hours and start time. We set your hourly rate from your résumé, and we may name you on proposals that match this role. If we don't win, you owe nothing.
- A contract is awarded. The award funds the team named in the proposal. Your engagement begins at the hourly rate we agreed on.
- You work remote, paid from the contract. ~80–400 hrs per funded award — and if no award ever funds, you owe nothing and lose nothing.
What you'll do
- Review our acquisition workflows, parcel tracking and document checklists against Uniform Act requirements and Caltrans Local Assistance procedures
- Tell us where an approach breaks on real parcels, real owners, real appraisals, or a real right-of-way certification
- Check claims about schedule, compliance and federal-aid eligibility before they reach the Government
- Point us at the regulation, the manual chapter or the form we should be following, from 49 CFR Part 24 to the Local Assistance Procedures Manual
Required qualifications
- Direct experience acquiring real property or right-of-way for a public agency, consultant or local agency on federally funded projects
- Working knowledge of the Uniform Act and 49 CFR Part 24, including appraisal and review, offers, negotiation, relocation assistance and right-of-way certification
- Hands-on experience with Caltrans Local Assistance Procedures Manual (LAPM) right-of-way requirements or comparable state DOT local-agency procedures
- U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident (U.S. person)
- Willing to be named on a federal proposal with a one-page resume, and to sign a short letter of commitment
Preferred qualifications
- Experience preparing or reviewing right-of-way certifications for federal-aid projects delivered by cities, counties or transit agencies
- Utility relocation, temporary construction easements, property management or excess land disposition
- IRWA designation such as SR/WA or R/W-AC, R/W-NAC or R/W-RAC, or a California real estate license
