Protestant Religious Education Coordinator

Lead Protestant children's and youth ministry on site at the Vandenberg SFB Chapel in California, including Sunday worship times. Build the programs, support the volunteers and keep chapel records in order.

How this role works

You join the bench. You apply with your weekly hours and start time. We set your hourly rate from your résumé, and we may name you on proposals that match this role. If we don't win, you owe nothing.
A contract is awarded. The award funds the team named in the proposal. Your engagement begins at the hourly rate we agreed on.
You work remote, paid from the contract. ~400–1,200 hrs per funded award — and if no award ever funds, you owe nothing and lose nothing.

What you'll do

Plan and lead Sunday school, children's church, Vacation Bible School, middle and high school youth group and AWANA
Recruit, train, schedule and support the volunteers who teach and serve alongside you
Handle chapel administration: APF and CTOF purchase requests, facility requests, rosters and attendance records
Promote programs to chapel families so people know what is happening and when
Be on site at the Vandenberg SFB Chapel, including during Sunday worship times

Required qualifications

Experience leading children's and youth ministry, such as Sunday school, children's church, VBS, youth group or AWANA
Experience supervising and scheduling volunteers
Comfort with church or chapel administration: purchase requests, facility scheduling, rosters and attendance records
Able to work on site at Vandenberg SFB, CA, including Sunday worship times
U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident (U.S. person)
Willing to be named on a federal proposal with a one-page resume, and to sign a short letter of commitment

Preferred qualifications

Prior military chapel experience, including familiarity with APF and CTOF funding
Training or a degree in Christian education, youth ministry or a related field
Current child-safety or background-check clearance for working with minors
Lives within commuting distance of Vandenberg SFB, such as Lompoc, Santa Maria or nearby

Compensation & structure

1099 consulting engagement. $25–$50 per hour; we set your rate from your résumé and experience. Hours are funded by federal contract awards — this seat is scoped at roughly 400–1,200 hours per funded award, on site, vandenberg sfb, ca. Work and pay begin only if the contract is awarded — no award, no hours, no obligation.
