How this role works

You join the bench. You apply with your hourly rate, weekly hours and start time, and we may name you on proposals that match this role. If we don't win, you owe nothing.
A contract is awarded. The award funds the team named in the proposal. Your engagement begins at the hourly rate we agreed on.
You work remote, paid from the contract. ~80–400 hrs per funded award — and if no award ever funds, you owe nothing and lose nothing.

What you'll do

Serve as principal investigator or co-investigator on NIH, CDMRP and other federal research proposals
Shape aims, endpoints, inclusion criteria and the clinical protocol so they hold up in peer review
Oversee participant safety, adverse-event review and IRB interactions on funded studies
Translate what our AI and data tools produce into decisions clinicians would actually make

Required qualifications

MD, DO or MD-PhD with an active or recently active U.S. medical license
Investigator role on at least one funded clinical study, trial or federal research grant
Peer-reviewed publications in your clinical field
U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident (U.S. person)
Willing to be named on a federal proposal with a one-page resume, and to sign a short letter of commitment

Preferred qualifications

Prior NIH R01, R21, U01 or CDMRP award as PI or co-I
Board certification in a specialty tied to our programs (oncology, neurology, emergency medicine, psychiatry, infectious disease, pediatrics)
Experience with AI, digital health or data-driven clinical research

Compensation & structure

1099 consulting engagement. $100–$160 per hour; you tell us the rate you are asking when you apply. Hours are funded by federal contract awards — this seat is scoped at roughly 80–400 hours per funded award, fully remote. Work and pay begin only if the contract is awarded — no award, no hours, no obligation.
