About Precision Federal

How this role works
- You join the bench. You apply with your weekly hours and start time. We set your hourly rate from your résumé, and we may name you on proposals that match this role. If we don't win, you owe nothing.
- A contract is awarded. The award funds the team named in the proposal. Your engagement begins at the hourly rate we agreed on.
- You work remote, paid from the contract. ~120–600 hrs per funded award — and if no award ever funds, you owe nothing and lose nothing.
What you'll do
- Review our OT/ICS security architectures, asset inventories and network segmentation against how airport, transportation and energy control systems actually operate
- Tell us where a security control would break a safety function, interrupt operations, or fail on real PLCs, HMIs and field devices
- Check our risk assessments and findings against NIST SP 800-82, ISA/IEC 62443 and applicable sector requirements before they reach the Government
- Help monitor, harden and respond to threats in control system environments without disrupting the processes they run
- Point us at the protocol behavior, vendor guidance or sector standard we should be relying on
Required qualifications
- Current GIAC Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional (GICSP) certification
- Hands-on OT/ICS security experience in aviation, airport or transportation control systems, such as baggage handling, airfield lighting, fuel, access control, traffic or transit signaling
- Working knowledge of industrial protocols and architectures such as Modbus, DNP3, BACnet, EtherNet/IP, OPC UA and the Purdue model
- U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident (U.S. person)
- Willing to be named on a federal proposal with a one-page resume, and to sign a short letter of commitment
Preferred qualifications
- Energy control system security experience, such as SCADA, EMS or DCS environments, and familiarity with NERC CIP
- Experience applying NIST SP 800-82, ISA/IEC 62443 or TSA security directives for aviation or surface transportation
- OT monitoring platforms such as Dragos, Claroty or Nozomi Networks
- Additional certifications such as GIAC GRID, ISA/IEC 62443 Cybersecurity Expert or CISSP
- Experience leading an OT/ICS security team or assessment
