Be our hands and eyes on the plant floor in Oklahoma City, deploying OT sensors, triaging ICS advisories and training the people who keep control systems running.

About Precision Federal

Precision Federal is a small business building AI, data and software systems for government agencies. The company’s founder loves God, and the company is built on Christian faith: every number we publish is real, every claim we make is verifiable, and the work is done with excellence as service to God. Faith is welcome here and openly shared.

How this role works

  1. You join the bench. You apply with your weekly hours and start time. We set your hourly rate from your résumé, and we may name you on proposals that match this role. If we don't win, you owe nothing.
  2. A contract is awarded. The award funds the team named in the proposal. Your engagement begins at the hourly rate we agreed on.
  3. You work remote, paid from the contract. ~120–600 hrs per funded award — and if no award ever funds, you owe nothing and lose nothing.

What you'll do

  • Deploy and tune passive OT monitoring sensors onsite, working alongside operators so nothing disrupts the process
  • Read SCADA and industrial protocol traffic and tell us what normal looks like and what does not
  • Triage CVEs and ICS advisories against the real asset inventory, and write offline update procedures that work in air-gapped and change-controlled environments
  • Train onsite staff on the tools and procedures we deliver, in plain language they can use on shift

Required qualifications

  • Live in the Oklahoma City area and be able to work onsite on a regular basis
  • Hands-on OT/ICS security experience with SCADA protocols such as Modbus, DNP3, EtherNet/IP, OPC UA or IEC 61850
  • Experience with vulnerability management in OT environments, including CVE and ICS advisory triage and patching or update procedures for offline systems
  • U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident (U.S. person)
  • Willing to be named on a federal proposal with a one-page resume, and to sign a short letter of commitment

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience deploying OT monitoring platforms such as Dragos, Claroty, Nozomi Networks or Tenable OT
  • Familiarity with ISA/IEC 62443, NIST SP 800-82 or NERC CIP
  • GICSP, GRID, GRID-related SANS or comparable OT security certification
  • Background in utilities, oil and gas, water, manufacturing or other critical infrastructure operations

Compensation & structure

1099 consulting engagement. $40–$100 per hour; we set your rate from your résumé and experience. Hours are funded by federal contract awards — this seat is scoped at roughly 120–600 hours per funded award, fully remote. Work and pay begin only if the contract is awarded — no award, no hours, no obligation.

  • We may name you on proposals. If that contract is awarded, you do the role at the rate and hours we agree on.
  • Paid hourly as a 1099 contractor; full-time roles may be W-2. If your background fits, we will email you.
