About Precision Federal
Precision Federal is a small business building AI, data and software systems for government agencies. The company’s founder loves God, and the company is built on Christian faith: every number we publish is real, every claim we make is verifiable, and the work is done with excellence as service to God. Faith is welcome here and openly shared.
How this role works
- You join the bench. You apply with your weekly hours and start time. We set your hourly rate from your résumé, and we may name you on proposals that match this role. If we don't win, you owe nothing.
- A contract is awarded. The award funds the team named in the proposal. Your engagement begins at the hourly rate we agreed on.
- You work remote, paid from the contract. ~120–600 hrs per funded award — and if no award ever funds, you owe nothing and lose nothing.
What you'll do
- Develop and review fire-control and engagement algorithms, from track quality and threat evaluation through weapon assignment, scheduling and guidance support
- Check our autonomy and weapon-control software against how naval combat systems actually integrate, sequence and fail
- Build or review the modeling and simulation we use to show a weapon control approach works, and tell us where the model is too kind
- Bring weaponeering judgment on effects, timelines and engagement doctrine so our claims are sound before they reach the Government
- Point us at the right interface standard, combat system baseline or authoritative test data we should be working from
Required qualifications
- Direct experience developing, integrating or testing fire-control, weapon control or combat systems software or algorithms
- Working knowledge of engagement sequencing, sensor-to-shooter timelines and weapon-target pairing on naval or comparable defense platforms
- Ability to work in C++, Python, MATLAB or a comparable language used for combat systems algorithms or M&S
- U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident (U.S. person)
- Willing to be named on a federal proposal with a one-page resume, and to sign a short letter of commitment
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with Aegis, SSDS, Ship Self-Defense, Mk 41 or Mk 57 VLS, CIWS, SeaRAM or comparable surface combat systems
- Background at a Navy warfare center, program office or a prime combat systems integrator
- Weaponeering, kill chain or effectiveness analysis experience
- Active or prior DoD security clearance
- Surface warfare, fire control technician or combat systems officer service
