About Precision Federal
Precision Federal is a small business building AI, data and software systems for government agencies. The company’s founder loves God, and the company is built on Christian faith: every number we publish is real, every claim we make is verifiable, and the work is done with excellence as service to God. Faith is welcome here and openly shared.
How this role works
- You join the bench. You apply with your weekly hours and start time. We set your hourly rate from your résumé, and we may name you on proposals that match this role. If we don't win, you owe nothing.
- A contract is awarded. The award funds the team named in the proposal. Your engagement begins at the hourly rate we agreed on.
- You work remote, paid from the contract. ~120–600 hrs per funded award — and if no award ever funds, you owe nothing and lose nothing.
What you'll do
- Design and review the tracking and fusion architecture, from detection-level inputs through track management and fused output
- Choose and tune the filters and association methods that fit the problem, and explain the tradeoffs in plain terms
- Tell us where an approach will break on real data, such as dense clutter, closely spaced targets, sensor bias, latency or out-of-sequence measurements
- Set up honest performance evaluation with the right metrics and test cases, and check our claims before they reach the Government
- Mentor our engineers and write the technical sections that describe the tracking and fusion approach
Required qualifications
- Senior-level experience designing, building or evaluating multi-target tracking systems on real sensor data
- Hands-on experience with sensor-fusion algorithms across two or more sensor types, such as radar, EO/IR, RF, acoustic, AIS or ADS-B
- Working knowledge of Kalman-family filters, IMM, and data association methods such as GNN, JPDA, MHT or random finite set approaches
- U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident (U.S. person)
- Willing to be named on a federal proposal with a one-page resume, and to sign a short letter of commitment
Preferred qualifications
- PhD or MS in electrical engineering, aerospace, applied mathematics, statistics or a related field
- Experience with track-to-track fusion, distributed fusion, or sensor registration and bias estimation
- Performance evaluation using OSPA, GOSPA, track purity, completeness or comparable metrics
- Publications or patents in tracking or fusion, or work through ISIF or the FUSION conference community
- Defense, space or maritime surveillance program experience, and an active or prior security clearance
Compensation & structure
