About Precision Federal
Precision Federal is a small business building AI, data and software systems for government agencies. Faith is welcome here and openly shared.
How this role works
- You join the bench. You apply with your weekly hours and start time. We set your hourly rate from your résumé, and we may name you on proposals that match this role. If we don't win, you owe nothing.
- A contract is awarded. The award funds the team named in the proposal. Your engagement begins at the hourly rate we agreed on.
- You work remote, paid from the contract. ~200–1,000 hrs per funded award — and if no award ever funds, you owe nothing and lose nothing.
What you'll do
- Own the technical architecture for a driver licensing, titling and registration platform implementation, covering configuration, interfaces and data
- Design and review integrations with AAMVAnet services such as CDLIS, PDPS, NMVTIS, SPEXS, State-to-State and DLDV
- Tell us where a design will break on real DMV volumes, real legacy data or real compliance deadlines
- Work alongside our engineers on conversion, testing and cutover so the system goes live without losing a record
Required qualifications
- 2+ years hands-on implementing a commercial motor vehicle, driver licensing, or titling and registration platform
- Direct experience integrating a state system with AAMVAnet services, including message formats, structured testing and AAMVA certification
- Able to work remotely from within the United States
- U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident (U.S. person)
- Willing to be named on a federal proposal with a one-page resume, and to sign a short letter of commitment
Preferred qualifications
- Technical architect or technical lead role on a full state DMV modernization
- REAL ID, commercial driver license compliance, or the FMCSA rules that drive CDLIS and State-to-State changes
- Cloud hosting, API gateways and identity for public-facing DMV services
- Legacy mainframe DMV systems and the data conversion out of them
