How this role works
- You join the bench. You apply with your weekly hours and start time. We set your hourly rate from your résumé, and we may name you on proposals that match this role. If we don't win, you owe nothing.
- A contract is awarded. The award funds the team named in the proposal. Your engagement begins at the hourly rate we agreed on.
- You work remote, paid from the contract. ~80–600 hrs per funded award — and if no award ever funds, you owe nothing and lose nothing.
What you'll do
- Install, wire, program and test intrusion alarm, access control, video and related low-voltage security equipment at sites in the Raleigh area
- Troubleshoot and service existing systems, find the real fault, and fix it so it stays fixed
- Document what you installed and changed, including device locations, wiring, programming and test results, so the next technician and the customer can rely on it
- Tell us when a design, a device or a site condition will not work in practice before it becomes a problem in the field
Required qualifications
- Current North Carolina alarm systems or low-voltage license in good standing
- Hands-on experience installing and servicing security systems such as intrusion alarm, access control or video surveillance
- Based in the Raleigh, NC area and able to work on site at customer locations
- U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident (U.S. person)
- Willing to be named on a federal proposal with a one-page resume, and to sign a short letter of commitment
Preferred qualifications
- Experience on government, commercial or other secure facility projects
- Manufacturer certifications for common alarm, access control or video platforms
- Familiarity with NEC low-voltage requirements and NFPA 72 fire alarm practices
- Ability to pass a background check and hold or obtain site access credentials
