How this role works

You join the bench. You apply with your hourly rate, weekly hours and start time, and we may name you on proposals that match this role. If we don't win, you owe nothing.
A contract is awarded. The award funds the team named in the proposal. Your engagement begins at the hourly rate we agreed on.
You work remote, paid from the contract. ~40–80 hrs per funded award — and if no award ever funds, you owe nothing and lose nothing.

What you’ll do

Review how we model case data, legal workflow, and decision support against real JAG practice.
Tell us where an AI-assisted legal tool would be unusable, inadmissible, or professionally unacceptable.
Check our claims about legal review burden and turnaround before they reach an evaluator.

Required qualifications

Direct experience as a judge advocate, paralegal, or military justice practitioner.
Working knowledge of the UCMJ, courts-martial process, or military legal case management.
Willing to be named in a federal proposal with your consent, each time.

Preferred qualifications

Air Force JAG, Army JAG Corps, Navy JAG, or a military justice program office.
Familiarity with legal case-management systems or e-discovery.

Compensation & structure

1099 consulting engagement. $50–$80 per hour; you tell us the rate you are asking when you apply. Hours are funded by federal contract awards — roughly 40–80 hours across a 6–12 month period of performance per funded award, fully remote. No award, no hours, no obligation.
