About Precision Federal
Precision Federal is a small business building AI, data and software systems for government agencies. The company’s founder loves God, and the company is built on Christian faith: every number we publish is real, every claim we make is verifiable, and the work is done with excellence as service to God. Faith is welcome here and openly shared.
How this role works
- You join the bench. You apply with your weekly hours and start time. We set your hourly rate from your résumé, and we may name you on proposals that match this role. If we don't win, you owe nothing.
- A contract is awarded. The award funds the team named in the proposal. Your engagement begins at the hourly rate we agreed on.
- You work remote, paid from the contract. ~160–800 hrs per funded award — and if no award ever funds, you owe nothing and lose nothing.
What you'll do
- Own the React Native and Expo architecture, from navigation and state to offline behavior and builds
- Lead the path through App Store and Google Play review, releases, over-the-air updates and crash monitoring
- Make sure catalog search, account, holds and digital lending flows feel simple and work with screen readers and large text
- Set the code review, testing and release habits the rest of the team follows, and pair with the engineers who join you
Required qualifications
- Lead or senior engineering experience building production mobile apps in React Native
- Hands-on Expo experience, including EAS Build, EAS Update or comparable build and release tooling
- Shipped at least one public library mobile app that is or was live in the App Store or Google Play
- Based in the United States
- U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident (U.S. person)
- Willing to be named on a federal proposal with a one-page resume, and to sign a short letter of commitment
Preferred qualifications
- Integration with library systems such as an ILS, catalog discovery layer, SIP2, or digital lending platforms like OverDrive/Libby or hoopla
- Mobile accessibility work against WCAG 2.1 AA, VoiceOver and TalkBack
- Experience with state, county or city government, or public-sector clients
