About Precision Federal

How this role works
- You join the bench. You apply with your weekly hours and start time. We set your hourly rate from your résumé, and we may name you on proposals that match this role. If we don't win, you owe nothing.
- A contract is awarded. The award funds the team named in the proposal. Your engagement begins at the hourly rate we agreed on.
- You work remote, paid from the contract. ~160–800 hrs per funded award — and if no award ever funds, you owe nothing and lose nothing.
What you'll do
- Reconstruct and review internal and external doses from bioassay results, badge readings, area monitoring and site profile data
- Run and check IREP inputs and probability of causation results, and explain plainly the assumptions behind them
- Evaluate Special Exposure Cohort petitions: whether dose can be bounded with sufficient accuracy, and which records support that call
- Tell us where a model, a coworker dataset or a missed-dose assumption will not hold up under technical or claimant review
- Mentor senior dose reconstructors and dosimetrists, and help us lead the principal and SEC evaluation seats
Required qualifications
- Hands-on dose reconstruction or radiation dosimetry experience at a DOE site, weapons or fuel cycle facility, naval nuclear program or commercial nuclear plant
- Working use of IREP or comparable dose assessment and probability of causation tools, and of ICRP biokinetic and dosimetric models
- Able to obtain and hold a DOE Q clearance
- U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident (U.S. person)
- Willing to be named on a federal proposal with a one-page resume, and to sign a short letter of commitment
Preferred qualifications
- Certified Health Physicist (CHP) from the American Board of Health Physics, needed for the principal lead seat
- Experience evaluating Special Exposure Cohort petitions or writing site profiles and technical basis documents
- Active or prior DOE Q or L clearance
- IMBA, coworker dose modeling, MCNP or similar internal dose and radiation transport tools
