About Precision Federal
Precision Federal is a small business building AI, data and software systems for government agencies. The company’s founder loves God, and the company is built on Christian faith: every number we publish is real, every claim we make is verifiable, and the work is done with excellence as service to God. How this role works
- You join the bench. You apply with your weekly hours and start time. We set your hourly rate from your résumé, and we may name you on proposals that match this role. If we don't win, you owe nothing.
- A contract is awarded. The award funds the team named in the proposal. Your engagement begins at the hourly rate we agreed on.
- You work remote, paid from the contract. ~120–600 hrs per funded award — and if no award ever funds, you owe nothing and lose nothing.
What you'll do
- Review our analytic approach, indicators and data sources against how labor markets, firms and household livelihoods really work in displacement settings
- Tell us where a model or assumption breaks in a fragile or conflict-affected context, such as when markets are disrupted, access is limited, or the data cannot be trusted
- Check claims about jobs, incomes, market systems and private investment before they reach the Government
- Point us at the survey, dataset, evaluation or body of evidence we should be building on
Required qualifications
- Direct experience as an economist working on forced displacement, private-sector development, or both, in a research, operational or advisory role
- Work in or on fragility, conflict and violence (FCV) settings, whether in the field or through sustained analysis of those contexts
- U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident (U.S. person)
- Willing to be named on a federal proposal with a one-page resume, and to sign a short letter of commitment
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with multilateral development banks, UN agencies, bilateral donors or international NGOs on displacement or jobs programs
- Hands-on work with household, labor force, enterprise or refugee registration data in low-income or crisis settings
- Graduate degree in economics, development economics or a closely related field
- Working proficiency in Arabic, French, Spanish, Ukrainian, Dari, Pashto, Somali or another language of a major displacement context
