About Precision Federal
Precision Federal is a small business building AI, data and software systems for government agencies. How this role works
- You join the bench. You apply with your weekly hours and start time. We set your hourly rate from your résumé, and we may name you on proposals that match this role. If we don't win, you owe nothing.
- A contract is awarded. The award funds the team named in the proposal. Your engagement begins at the hourly rate we agreed on.
- You work remote, paid from the contract. ~80–400 hrs per funded award — and if no award ever funds, you owe nothing and lose nothing.
What you'll do
- Plan and deliver workshops for fishermen, processors, managers and community groups, in person and online
- Work alongside Fishery Management Councils, advisory panels and Take Reduction Teams so our results show up where decisions are made
- Turn technical findings, data products and tools into plain materials that fishermen and managers can actually use
- Tell us how a finding will land with industry and communities, and where we need to listen before we present
- Track who we reached, what they told us, and what changed, so outreach is reported honestly
Required qualifications
- Direct experience in fisheries outreach, extension, or stakeholder engagement with commercial or recreational fishing communities
- Experience planning and leading workshops, public meetings or training sessions for non-technical audiences
- Working familiarity with how federal fisheries management works, including the Council process or Take Reduction Teams
- U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident (U.S. person)
- Willing to be named on a federal proposal with a one-page resume, and to sign a short letter of commitment
Preferred qualifications
- Participation in Fishery Management Council meetings, advisory panels, or Take Reduction Team processes
- University extension, state fish and wildlife agency, or interstate marine fisheries commission experience
- Background in protected species, bycatch reduction, or gear modification work
- Spanish or another language spoken in the fishing communities you have served
Compensation & structure
1099 consulting engagement. $25–$60 per hour; we set your rate from your résumé and experience.
