About Precision Federal
Precision Federal is a small business building AI, data and software systems for government agencies. The company’s founder loves God, and the company is built on Christian faith: every number we publish is real, every claim we make is verifiable, and the work is done with excellence as service to God. Faith is welcome here and openly shared.
How this role works
- You join the bench. You apply with your weekly hours and start time. We set your hourly rate from your résumé, and we may name you on proposals that match this role. If we don't win, you owe nothing.
- A contract is awarded. The award funds the team named in the proposal. Your engagement begins at the hourly rate we agreed on.
- You work remote, paid from the contract. ~400–800 hrs per funded award — and if no award ever funds, you owe nothing and lose nothing.
What you'll do
- Survey existing buildings: telecom rooms, pathways, cabling, cameras, door hardware, wireless and voice endpoints, and the power that feeds them
- Carry the design from concept through construction documents: structured cabling to TIA-568, 569, 606 and 607, telecom room layout with ventilation and clean power, and the PoE edge for voice, wireless, video and access control
- Write CSI 3-part specifications, produce AutoCAD drawings, and seal the sets that go to the authority having jurisdiction for plan review
- Support bidding and construction administration, working inside secure, occupied facilities under escort and tool-control rules
Required qualifications
- Active Oregon PE (electrical), or an active PE in another state with Oregon comity in progress
- Stamped low-voltage or telecommunications designs for occupied public buildings within the last five years, including three buildings you can show with photographs and a plain description
- Able to pass a criminal records check for facility access and to make periodic site visits in Oregon
- U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident (U.S. person)
- Willing to be named on a federal proposal with a one-page resume, and to sign a short letter of commitment
Preferred qualifications
- RCDD (BICSI); one person who holds both the PE and the RCDD is ideal
- Correctional, courthouse, hospital or campus work
- Division 27 and 28 specifications, AutoCAD or Revit, and construction administration on public bids
- Your own small engineering practice; we'd be glad to work together as partners
