1099 consultant · ~80–400 hrs per funded award · $35–$85/hr · Remote (U.S.)

Educational Facility Planner (South Carolina)

Keep our school facility work grounded in how South Carolina schools are actually built, assessed and paid for, from building condition to the cost of fixing it.

About Precision Federal

Precision Federal is a small business building AI, data and software systems for government agencies. The company’s founder loves God, and the company is built on Christian faith: every number we publish is real, every claim we make is verifiable, and the work is done with excellence as service to God. Faith is welcome here and openly shared.

How this role works

  1. You join the bench. You apply with your weekly hours and start time. We set your hourly rate from your résumé, and we may name you on proposals that match this role. If we don't win, you owe nothing.
  2. A contract is awarded. The award funds the team named in the proposal. Your engagement begins at the hourly rate we agreed on.
  3. You work remote, paid from the contract. ~80–400 hrs per funded award — and if no award ever funds, you owe nothing and lose nothing.

What you'll do

  • Assess whether school facilities are adequate for the programs, enrollment and standards they are expected to serve
  • Build and review cost estimates for renovation, replacement and new construction that hold up to scrutiny
  • Tell us where a facility score or a cost figure breaks against what a walk-through of a real building shows
  • Point us at the South Carolina standards, educational specifications and cost sources we should be using

Required qualifications

  • Direct experience as an educational facility planner or architect on K-12 school projects
  • Hands-on experience with school facility condition or adequacy assessments and with facility cost estimates
  • Working knowledge of South Carolina school facility practice, codes and planning standards
  • U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident (U.S. person)
  • Willing to be named on a federal proposal with a one-page resume, and to sign a short letter of commitment

Preferred qualifications

  • Registered architect in South Carolina
  • Certified Educational Facility Planner (CEFP) or active A4LE involvement
  • Experience with district facility master plans, educational specifications or capital improvement programs
  • Comfort with RSMeans or comparable cost estimating tools

Compensation & structure

1099 consulting engagement. $35–$85 per hour; we set your rate from your résumé and experience. Hours are funded by federal contract awards — this seat is scoped at roughly 80–400 hours per funded award, fully remote. Work and pay begin only if the contract is awarded — no award, no hours, no obligation.

Join the bench — Educational Facility Planner (South Carolina)

Every application is read. It takes about 5 minutes.

  • This is a bench, not a job offer. Work starts when we win a contract that needs you.
  • We may name you on proposals. If that contract is awarded, you do the role at the rate and hours we agree on.
  • Paid hourly as a 1099 contractor; full-time roles may be W-2. If your background fits, we will email you.
