About Precision Federal
Precision Federal is a small business building AI, data and software systems for government agencies. The company’s founder loves God, and the company is built on Christian faith: every number we publish is real, every claim we make is verifiable, and the work is done with excellence as service to God. Faith is welcome here and openly shared.
How this role works
- You join the bench. You apply with your weekly hours and start time. We set your hourly rate from your résumé, and we may name you on proposals that match this role. If we don't win, you owe nothing.
- A contract is awarded. The award funds the team named in the proposal. Your engagement begins at the hourly rate we agreed on.
- You work remote, paid from the contract. ~80–400 hrs per funded award — and if no award ever funds, you owe nothing and lose nothing.
What you'll do
- Review our data models, call-type groupings and offense mappings against how RMS and CAD records are actually entered and closed
- Tell us where an analysis breaks on real data: duplicate incidents, reclassified offenses, bad geocodes, or call types that change after dispatch
- Check our crime counts, trends and maps before they reach the Government, and make sure they would hold up in front of a command staff meeting
- Show us how working crime analysts use the data day to day, and what output would actually help them
Required qualifications
- Direct experience analyzing law enforcement RMS or CAD data as a crime analyst, intelligence analyst, or in a similar role
- Working knowledge of NIBRS or UCR offense coding, calls-for-service data, and basic crime analysis methods such as trend, hot spot or repeat-location analysis
- U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident (U.S. person)
- Willing to be named on a federal proposal with a one-page resume, and to sign a short letter of commitment
Preferred qualifications
- Current or former crime analyst at a police department, sheriff's office or regional crime analysis center
- Hands-on use of an RMS or CAD platform such as Mark43, Tyler New World, CentralSquare, Motorola PremierOne or Spillman, or Hexagon
- ArcGIS, SQL, R or Python for crime mapping and analysis
- IACA Certified Law Enforcement Analyst (CLEA) or similar credential, and the ability to pass a CJIS background check
