How this role works

1. You join the bench. We name you (with a short bio) on proposals that match this role, always asking you first. Consent costs you nothing and commits you to nothing until an award funds.
2. A contract is awarded. Federal SBIR awards fund the team named in the proposal. Your engagement begins, at an hourly rate agreed before you were ever named.
3. You work remote, paid from the contract. ~40–80 hrs per funded award — and if no award ever funds, you owe nothing and lose nothing.

What you’ll do

• Review our detection, track, and engagement-decision models against fielded C-UAS practice.
• Tell us where an autonomy or sensor-fusion claim would break against real clutter and real swarms.
• Check our claims about operator load, engagement timelines, and defended-area assumptions.

Required qualifications

• Direct experience in counter-UAS operations, air defense, or C-UAS system test.
• Familiarity with a fielded C-UAS system or the air-defense picture.
• Willing to be named in a federal proposal with your consent, each time.

Preferred qualifications

• Army air defense, a joint C-UAS task force, or a C-UAS program office.
• Experience with swarm or multi-target engagement analysis.

Compensation & structure

1099 consulting engagement. $100–$125 per hour, confirmed in writing before you are named on any proposal. Hours are funded by federal contract awards — roughly 40–80 hours across a 6–12 month period of performance per funded award, fully remote. No award, no hours, no obligation.
