How this role works
- You join the bench. You apply with your weekly hours and start time. We set your hourly rate from your résumé, and we may name you on proposals that match this role. If we don't win, you owe nothing.
- A contract is awarded. The award funds the team named in the proposal. Your engagement begins at the hourly rate we agreed on.
- You work remote, paid from the contract. ~80–400 hrs per funded award — and if no award ever funds, you owe nothing and lose nothing.
What you'll do
- Review our data models, crime classifications and reporting logic against how Clery statistics are actually compiled and counted
- Tell us where an approach breaks on real Clery geography, real Campus Security Authority reports, or real campus workflows
- Check claims about Annual Security Report, fire safety report, daily crime log, timely warning and emergency notification compliance before they reach the Government
- Point us at the regulation, guidance or authoritative source we should be using
Required qualifications
- Direct experience as a campus Clery coordinator, Clery compliance officer, or in a comparable campus safety compliance role
- Working knowledge of Clery geography, crime definitions and the hierarchy rule, Campus Security Authorities, timely warnings, emergency notifications, the daily crime log, and the Annual Security and Fire Safety Reports
- U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident (U.S. person)
- Willing to be named on a federal proposal with a one-page resume, and to sign a short letter of commitment
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with the VAWA amendments to Clery and how they intersect with Title IX processes
- Background in campus police or public safety, student housing fire safety, or institutional compliance and audit
- Clery Center training or a comparable Clery certification, and experience preparing for or responding to a federal program review
