About Precision Federal
Precision Federal is a small business building AI, data and software systems for government agencies. The company’s founder loves God, and the company is built on Christian faith: every number we publish is real, every claim we make is verifiable, and the work is done with excellence as service to God. Faith is welcome here and openly shared.
How this role works
- You join the bench. You apply with your weekly hours and start time. We set your hourly rate from your résumé, and we may name you on proposals that match this role. If we don't win, you owe nothing.
- A contract is awarded. The award funds the team named in the proposal. Your engagement begins at the hourly rate we agreed on.
- You work remote, paid from the contract. ~1,800–2,080 hrs per funded award — and if no award ever funds, you owe nothing and lose nothing.
What you'll do
- Run quarterly federal claim preparation and validation for the CB-496, Title IV-B, TANF Emergency Assistance, Chafee/ETV and Medicaid administrative claiming
- Own the claiming calendar so every claim and report is ready, reviewed and submitted on time
- Reconcile every filed number back to its source, including cost pools, allocation statistics, eligibility and penetration rates
- Catch errors and disallowance risk before a claim goes out, and explain the fix in plain language
- Work with our engineers so the systems behind each claim produce numbers you can stand behind
Required qualifications
- At least three years of direct experience with Title IV-E, Title IV-B, TANF and Medicaid claiming processes and requirements for state child welfare agencies
- Hands-on experience preparing, validating and submitting federal claims and reports across all of these funding streams
- Able to work full-time on site in Springfield, IL, and to pass a background screening before getting system access
- Willing to be named as key personnel in our proposal
- U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident (U.S. person)
- Willing to be named on a federal proposal with a one-page resume, and to sign a short letter of commitment
Preferred qualifications
- CB-496, Title IV-B financial reporting, ACF-196R, Chafee/ETV reporting or CMS-64 administrative claiming
- Public assistance cost allocation plans, random moment sampling, and IV-E eligibility or penetration rate work
- Federal reviews, OIG audits or disallowance responses
- Experience with CCWIS or SACWIS systems, or state financial systems
