How this role works
- You join the bench. You apply with your weekly hours and start time. We set your hourly rate from your résumé, and we may name you on proposals that match this role. If we don't win, you owe nothing.
- A contract is awarded. The award funds the team named in the proposal. Your engagement begins at the hourly rate we agreed on.
- You work remote, paid from the contract. ~160–800 hrs per funded award — and if no award ever funds, you owe nothing and lose nothing.

- Serve as coordinating center principal investigator, owning the scientific direction, protocols and analysis plans
- Lead cardiovascular disease research in American Indian cohorts in partnership with tribal communities, tribal review boards and field centers
- Oversee data collection standards, quality control, follow-up and outcome adjudication across sites
- Guide the analysis and publication work, and review our data systems against how cohort research is actually run
Required qualifications
- Experience leading epidemiologic research as a principal investigator or co-principal investigator on funded studies
- Published research on cardiovascular disease in American Indian or Alaska Native populations, or in cohorts that include them

- U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident (U.S. person)
- Willing to be named on a federal proposal with a one-page resume, and to sign a short letter of commitment
Preferred qualifications
- Doctoral degree in epidemiology, public health or a related field, or an MD with epidemiology training
- Working relationships with tribal nations, tribal IRBs, and the principles of tribal data sovereignty
- Experience with longitudinal follow-up, morbidity and mortality surveillance, and event adjudication
- Track record managing study data, data sharing and investigator committees across institutions
