How this role works
- You are named in the quote. Precision Federal names the people who will do the work, so the résumé you send is what the Government reads. Being named costs you nothing and commits you to nothing until the contract is awarded.
- The contract is awarded. Start is on award, expected October 2026. Your engagement begins at the rate agreed in writing before you were ever named.
- You work on site in Anchorage, paid from the contract. Full time for 12 months (about 1,940 hours over the year) at the MMA Alaska Facility, 3801 CenterPoint Drive, during Government business hours. If the award does not fund, you owe nothing and lose nothing.
What you'll do
- Organize and import raw seafloor and subsurface geoscience and geospatial data into lease- and regional-extent projects.
- Build Kingdom and ArcGIS Pro projects in the MMA Alaska coordinate system and datum (Alaska Albers NAD83) and reproject datasets to it.
- Reconcile MMA Alaska shared drives, SharePoint and legacy SLB Petrel projects against the IHS Kingdom master projects and the G&G Data LifeCycle Toolkit; de-duplicate, resolve discrepancies, and document provenance.
- Integrate legacy projects into master North, South and Bering Sea Kingdom projects.
- Quality-control and aggregate seismic, well, bathymetric, magnetometer, side-scan sonar, sub-bottom, geotechnical and hazards datasets in native, processed and derived formats.
- Write metadata and data process flow diagrams; contribute FGDC CSDGM and ISO 191xx dataset-level metadata and DOI Data Inventory catalog entries.
- Develop naming conventions, file management standards, SOPs and publication and archiving procedures.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in geology, geophysics, geography, physical science, earth science, or a related field, plus 20 additional semester hours in any combination of mathematics, physics, chemistry, biological science, structural/chemical/civil/mining/petroleum engineering, computer science, planetary geology, comparative planetology, geophysics, meteorology, hydrology, oceanography, physical geography, marine geology, and cartography.
- Senior-level professional knowledge and experience using geoscience interpretation software including IHS Global Kingdom, SLB Petrel and Seisee, along with GIS applications such as ArcGIS Pro or QGIS, and SQL Server Management Studio, with a special emphasis on data management.
- Experience with data standardization, organization, automation, manipulation, migration, analysis and interpretation.
- SQL and Python preferred.
- Able to work on site in Anchorage during Government business hours.
- U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident who has resided in the U.S. at least three years, and able to pass a DOI background investigation for facility and network access (§3.14). The Government pays for the investigation.
- Willing to be named on a federal proposal with a one-page resume, and to sign a short letter of commitment

- Alaska OCS or North Slope data experience
- Kingdom Data Management (KDM) or Petrel project administration
Compensation & structure
$100 per hour (1099) or the equivalent W-2 salary, full time for 12 months from award, on site at 3801 CenterPoint Drive, Anchorage, AK 99503, agreed in writing before you are ever named in the quote.
