About Precision Federal
Precision Federal is a small business building AI, data and software systems for government agencies. Faith is welcome here and openly shared.
How this role works
- You join the bench. You apply with your weekly hours and start time. We set your hourly rate from your résumé, and we may name you on proposals that match this role. If we don't win, you owe nothing.
- A contract is awarded. The award funds the team named in the proposal. Your engagement begins at the hourly rate we agreed on.
- You work remote, paid from the contract. ~80–200 hrs per funded award — and if no award ever funds, you owe nothing and lose nothing.
What you'll do
- Review tower, antenna and small-cell applications against local wireless ordinances and FCC rules
- Check structural packages to ANSI/TIA-222, RF-exposure reports to FCC OET Bulletin 65, and coverage-gap claims built on drive-test data
- Sign the engineering findings in plain-language memos that recommend approval, changes or denial
- Present and answer questions at Planning & Zoning or Council hearings when an application needs it, mostly remote otherwise
Required qualifications
- Current Professional Engineer registration in Arizona (electrical, telecommunications or structural), or the ability to hold it before submission
- Hands-on review or design of wireless facilities, with working command of RF engineering principles, structural safety and FCC compliance
- Experience applying municipal land-use and zoning rules to wireless siting decisions
- Willingness to sign a statement of complete independence from commercial wireless carriers, tower developers and installation contractors
- U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident (U.S. person)
- Willing to be named on a federal proposal with a one-page resume, and to sign a short letter of commitment
Preferred qualifications
- Three or more wireless application reviews completed for cities or counties that you can point to
- Comfort testifying at a public hearing and explaining engineering findings to elected officials and residents
- Proficiency with RF propagation and exposure modeling software and tower structural analysis tools
- Working knowledge of Section 6409(a), FCC small-cell rules and shot-clock deadlines
