About Precision Federal
Precision Federal is a small business building AI, data and software systems for government agencies. How this role works
- You join the bench. You apply with your weekly hours and start time. We set your hourly rate from your résumé, and we may name you on proposals that match this role. If we don't win, you owe nothing.
- A contract is awarded. The award funds the team named in the proposal. Your engagement begins at the hourly rate we agreed on.
- You work remote, paid from the contract. ~120–600 hrs per funded award — and if no award ever funds, you owe nothing and lose nothing.
What you'll do
- Plan, deploy and tune ArcGIS Enterprise on AWS, including Portal, ArcGIS Server, Data Store and Web Adaptor, sized for real municipal workloads
- Administer SQL Server enterprise geodatabases, including versioning, replication, compression, security and performance
- Build and test backup, recovery and continuity plans for the GIS stack so a bad day does not take the map down
- Manage upgrades, patching, federation, licensing and user roles across departments without breaking the services they depend on
- Review our architecture and runbooks against how city GIS teams actually work, and tell us where they will fall short
Required qualifications
- Current Esri ArcGIS Enterprise Administration certification (Associate or Professional)
- Hands-on experience deploying and running ArcGIS Enterprise on AWS
- 5+ years of GIS work for a city, county or other municipal government
- Working experience administering SQL Server enterprise geodatabases, including backup and restore
- U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident (U.S. person)
- Willing to be named on a federal proposal with a one-page resume, and to sign a short letter of commitment
Preferred qualifications
- AWS certification, such as Solutions Architect or SysOps Administrator
- ArcGIS Enterprise Cloud Builder for AWS, CloudFormation or Terraform, or ArcGIS Enterprise on Kubernetes
- Python and ArcPy automation for administration, monitoring and data maintenance
- Experience with the Local Government Information Model, parcel fabric or utility network
- High-availability or disaster recovery design for ArcGIS Enterprise
