Aircraft-Store Integration Engineer

Help us get stores off and onto aircraft safely by checking how they separate, how they fly away, and what they do to the airframe that carries them.

About Precision Federal

Precision Federal is a small business building AI, data and software systems for government agencies. The company’s founder loves God, and the company is built on Christian faith: every number we publish is real, every claim we make is verifiable, and the work is done with excellence as service to God. Faith is welcome here and openly shared.

How this role works

  1. You join the bench. You apply with your weekly hours and start time. We set your hourly rate from your résumé, and we may name you on proposals that match this role. If we don't win, you owe nothing.
  2. A contract is awarded. The award funds the team named in the proposal. Your engagement begins at the hourly rate we agreed on.
  3. You work remote, paid from the contract. ~120–600 hrs per funded award — and if no award ever funds, you owe nothing and lose nothing.

What you'll do

  • Run and review store separation and 6-DOF trajectory analyses across the carriage and release envelope
  • Build and check structural loads, flutter and aeroelastic assessments for aircraft carrying new or modified stores
  • Reconcile CFD, wind tunnel, captive trajectory and flight test data, and tell us plainly where they disagree
  • Work on site with the test and engineering team, and help turn analysis into clear clearance recommendations

Required qualifications

  • Direct engineering experience in store separation and 6-DOF trajectory analysis, or in structural loads and flutter analysis, on fixed-wing or rotary-wing aircraft
  • Hands-on use of the analysis tools for that work, such as CFD with moving-body or overset methods, 6-DOF trajectory codes, NASTRAN or comparable FEA, and flutter or aeroelastic solvers
  • Able to work on site at Eglin AFB, FL
  • U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident (U.S. person)
  • Willing to be named on a federal proposal with a one-page resume, and to sign a short letter of commitment

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience producing or supporting aircraft-store compatibility certification under MIL-HDBK-1763, MIL-HDBK-244A or comparable guidance
  • Wind tunnel captive trajectory or grid testing, and flight test planning or data reduction
  • Active or recent security clearance, a Professional Engineer license, or an advanced degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering

Compensation & structure

1099 consulting engagement. $45–$100 per hour; we set your rate from your résumé and experience. Hours are funded by federal contract awards — this seat is scoped at roughly 120–600 hours per funded award, fully remote. Work and pay begin only if the contract is awarded — no award, no hours, no obligation.

  • This is a bench, not a job offer. Work starts when we win a contract that needs you.
  • We may name you on proposals. If that contract is awarded, you do the role at the rate and hours we agree on.
  • Paid hourly as a 1099 contractor; full-time roles may be W-2. If your background fits, we will email you.
